Sometimes unplanned trips turn out to be the best ones and one such trip was our day trip to Nusa Penida. Our initial plan was to sneak out to Gilli T but we had love tree nusa penida change plans as the weather was not in our favor.
Nusa Penida is one of the three gorgeous islands dotted off the coast of Bali and is just 30 minutes ferry ride from Bali. Other two islands are Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. Nusa Penida is the largest and the least visited island amongst the three. The rugged landscape, uneven roads, breathtaking beauty, and undiscovered corners of the island makes it even more special. We booked our day trip from the resort itself. The boat to Nusa Penida was at 9:00 am sharp.
As we reached the island, our guide cum driver was already waiting to take us to some of the best places on the island. A beautiful natural infinity pool formation with crystal clear emerald color water is definitely not the kind of places you see every now and then. We were literally in awe of this place. Note: Make sure you carry your swimwear with you. Though it is quite safe to swim but be a bit cautious if the tides are high and avoid going near the edges. Who wants to swim in this gorgeous natural pool?
A post shared by Swati ? PS: There are no changing rooms so plan accordingly. Broken beach is very close to Angel’s Billabong and offers some mesmerizing sights to behold. Though access to the beach is not possible due to the stiff cliff and high current. But, the vantage point offers breathtaking views.
It is one of the most Instagrammed spots in Nusa Penida. If you are wondering how did we manage to climb that tree, there is a ladder just beside the tree and it is one of the most photographed places on the island. Do you fancy swimming with Manta Rays? Then Manta point is a place where you should head to. One of the most popular places for snorkeling and scuba diving. It is one of the most beautiful beaches characterized by white sandy beaches and crystal clear water. There are a handful of beach shacks and it is quite popular for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
You can get to Nusa Penida via Padang Bai, Benoa Harbour or Sanur. Another option is to take a cruise to Nusa Lembongan and then hire a local boat. We took a ferry from the main pier in Sanur. We were charged 300,000 IDR for the day trip from Sanur. There are various other options, you can check at their official site HERE. You can rent a motorcycle at 60-80,000 IDR but if you are on a shortage of time, a car would be the best option to cover most of the places.
Wear something comfortable as there are a lot of bumpy paths. Pack your swimwear as there are plenty of options to jump into the water. Make sure to book your ferry one day in advance to avoid last minute hassle. If you are renting a bike, be careful as roads are in a very bad shape.
